Bamboo Matcha Whisk (Chasen)

The heart of the bowl. This is a 100-prong bamboo whisk (chasen), the fine-pronged style used in traditional tea ceremony to work air into matcha and build a smooth, even froth. Hand-cut from a single piece of bamboo.

A chasen softens with daily use over time, so this is the one to keep on hand as a replacement, or to start with if you already have your bowl. Rest it on a whisk holder between uses to help it hold its shape.
